# How-to Guide: Dual Monitor Setup
Adding a second monitor is one of the easiest ways to increase your productivity. Here is how to get it done:
## 1. Check Your Connections
Ensure your computer has the necessary ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C). Most modern laptops and desktops support at least two displays.
## 2. Connect the Monitor
Plug in the video cable from your second monitor to your computer's video output. If you're using a laptop with only one HDMI port and you want two external monitors, you might need a **Docking Station**.
## 3. Configure Display Settings (Windows 11)
Once connected, Windows should detect the monitor automatically.
1. Right-click on the Desktop and select **Display settings**.
2. You'll see two boxes numbered 1 and 2. Click **Identify** to see which is which.
3. Drag the boxes to match the physical position of your monitors.
4. Scroll down to **Multiple displays** and ensure **Extend these displays** is selected.
## 4. Adjust Scaling and Resolution
If the text looks blurry or too small on one screen, adjust the **Scale** and **Display resolution** for each monitor individually.
