# Knowledge Base: Troubleshooting Slow Internet
Slow internet can be frustrating, especially when you're working on tight deadlines. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide for Windows 11 users:
## Step 1: Run the Network Troubleshooter
Windows 11 has built-in tools that can automatically detect and fix common issues.
1. Go to **Settings** > **System** > **Troubleshoot**.
2. Select **Other troubleshooters**.
3. Click **Run** next to **Internet Connections**.
## Step 2: Update Network Drivers
Outdated drivers are a common cause of poor connectivity.
1. Right-click the **Start** button and select **Device Manager**.
2. Expand **Network adapters**.
3. Right-click your Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter and select **Update driver**.
## Step 3: Flush DNS Cache
Corrupted DNS data can slow down page loading.
1. Open **Command Prompt** as Administrator.
2. Type `ipconfig /flushdns` and press Enter.
## Step 4: Check for Background Apps
Apps running in the background can consume bandwidth.
1. Press **Ctrl + Shift + Esc** to open **Task Manager**.
2. Go to the **Performance** tab and click **Resource Monitor**.
3. Look at the **Network** tab to see which apps are using the most data.
